KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE!
Everyone likes the prize. Remember when you used to go to the store and buy Cracker Jacks. You liked the popcorn and peanuts, but what you really wanted was the “prize in every box.” You could not wait to get the prize ~ it was the ultimate desire!
This same feeling is what must be firmly noted in our minds and spirits if we are going to see the financial result desired. Everyone wants to get ahead; everyone wants the extra each month; everyone wants to have enough left over to enjoy life. That is the prize when it comes to finances.
And the solution is simple ~ you have to keep your eyes on the prize. You cannot allow anything to keep you from seeing and obtaining what you want in life. As you budget, plan, and strive to get ahead, you cannot be deterred by anything to keep you from the prize of financial security.
As you monitor your finances on a monthly basis, you must discipline yourself to keep watching for the ultimate prize of having money left to do what you have always wanted to do. You have a desire; you want to reach that plateau, and really can if you will keep watching the prize.
You may have to adjust your lifestyle as you go. There are options to life and those options may be adjusting your spending habits, controlling your wishes, and living in such a manner that will enchance your financial well-being. You may have to sell off some unused items; trade for a used car instead of a new one, stop using the cell phone, cancel a magazine subscription, eliminate the internet charge, or whatever else can be adjusted to make your financial life better. You have the option ~ just keep your eyes on the prize.
In order to stay focused on the prize, you may want to place some remindrs around: Put a note on the bathroom mirror, tape an index card on the car dash, or put some typed reminder where you will see it ~ you have to keep focused on the prize.
Do not allow yourself to be compromised ~ you really do want the prize. Look at your expenses, adjust when you need to do so, and do not take your eyes off the prize.
SOMETHING FOR MY READERS & FRIENDS
The man whispered, “God, speak to me.”
And a meadowlark sang.
But the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, “God, speak to me!”
And the thunder rolled across the sky.
But the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, “God, let me see you.”
And a star shined brightly in the sky.
But the man did not see.
The man cried out in despair, “Touch me God, and let me know you are here.” Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But the man brushed the butterfly away…and walk on.
I found this my friends to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little and simple things that we take for granted…even in our internet age…so I would like to add one more…
The man cried, “God, I need your help!” And a website arrived http://soulharborministies.com reaching out with good news and encouragement. But the man deleted it and continued crying…
Because it is not packaged the way some might expect…Please don’t miss out on sharing this site and blessing others.
